You can go through the checklist and ensure you have included all documents as required for the type of application you are lodging. Keep in mind the branch you will submit your application because they may have some extra requirement or charges for e.g. offshore branches and VAC’s

Yes. But you may be required to include additional documents for the family and prove relationship if you chose to do so.

Application FAQ’s

It is an open Question and it is best to seek professional help even if you have the slightest of doubt. Going by our experience where people have assumed their qualification was completely relevant have had their applications declined by INZ.

Once again, this is an open question. To be able to maintain the rights of the local New Zealand residents and citizens it is important that your salary falls within the range but it is dependent on the Industry as well. Best to check with your Immigration Advisor.

An employment is considered full time if the working hours in a week are 30 or more.

It depends on your qualification, employment details, job description and the type of Industry. There are many factors to be considered in order to assess your eligibility for residence. It is therefore highly recommended that you check with your Immigration Advisor.

It happens quite a lot in the changing economy where for any reason the business has to close. It is best you start planning for your next visa as soon as possible because the longer you leave it – it will be considered as Breach of your current visa conditions.

You can try looking for a job elsewhere and if successful then apply for Variation of conditions or apply for Visitor Visa if you cannot find any options immediately.

That way you will maintain your legal status in NZ.

It is usually for Student Visa where you need to show living expenses for the duration of the Student visa. The living expenses for a year are $15000 or $1250 per month if the study is less than 12 months.

The same also applies for Visitor Visa where the applicant needs to show they have $1250 per person per month for the duration of their stay in NZ.

In lieu of the funds, you can also have an Acceptable Sponsor for your Student or visitor Visa application.

Yes you can as long as you have not breached the current visa conditions. But you need to be very careful because recently we have come across applications where students are influenced by cheaper fee and try to enrol in a course which is not relevant to what they had provided to INZ with their previous application.

Documents FAQ’s

It is valid for 24 months for all temporary application. For Residence, it is valid for 6 months. Please check with Immigration advisor and they can guide you correctly on this.

Medicals are valid for 36 months for all applications unless INZ asked you to repeat a test or provide a certain report with the next application. Note: Medicals are now submitted online to INZ by the Panel doctors.

Yes, if the documents or in another language then all need to be translated in English and certified accordingly.

Certifying documents is usually free. In NZ, this facility is provided by “Justice of Peace” and they are available in your nearest library or the community centre.

Your local police station can also certify the documents.

Most student visa applications are expected to be accompanied with an IELTS score.
You can check with your local IELTS centre to prepare for the main exam.

The updated fee is available on INZ website and can be checked anytime.
