Planning to Study in New Zealand and things to know after you enter New Zealand as a Student:

Just remember that New Zealand approach to teaching the subjects might be different from your country and especially quite different to the way, subjects are taught in the South East Asian countries.

When finalising the course, refer to your past subjects, your own goals – how the course you are deciding to pursue shall benefit you in terms of your professional aspirations. Please do not follow blindly what the agents tell you – you must make the decision by yourself as to what suits you. We have had to console a lot of students who went with the course their agents selected and come to New Zealand, eventually realising the mistake they have made – a mistake too late to rectify in most cases – and an expensive mistake (it costs money, efforts, time and often no guarantee that you will be able to change course without completing the first study).

If everything goes well and you have landed in New Zealand, it is a good idea to contact your college directly and introduce yourself. The college shall guide you with the orientation and assist you with settling In for the first few days.
When you are settled, one most important thing you should take note of is the college vacation schedule. In most Student visas, you have the option to work full time during the scheduled vacations. These vary from college to college so do not follow the schedule of your flatmate. If you are unsure, ask your college and they shall be able to guide you.
