FAQ
Common Questions
Can I work while studying in New Zealand?
Yes. Most student visa holders can work up to 20 hours per week during the academic term and full-time during scheduled holidays — if enrolled in a degree-level programme of 14 weeks or more.
How long does processing take?
Offshore applications typically take 4–6 weeks. Onshore applications can be faster. Having all documents correctly prepared when you apply significantly reduces delays.
Can my family come with me?
Your partner may be able to apply for a student visitor or work visa depending on your study level. Children under 18 may be eligible for a Dependent Child Student Visa to attend school in New Zealand.
What happens after I finish my studies?
You may be eligible for a Post Study Work Visa allowing you to work in New Zealand for up to 3 years after graduation. This is a key stepping stone toward residency.
My visa was declined — can I reapply?
Yes. A declined visa does not permanently bar you from applying again. We specialise in reviewing declined applications, identifying the exact reason, and preparing a stronger reapplication.
